Well, I can’t think of a better way to start our stay in this greater Seattle area then with a Bruno Mars Concert. It was in the Tacoma Dome and it was as good as I’d imagined it would be. Sometimes it was hard to see because we stayed standing for the whole 2 hours +. But I had fun regardless. One more thing off the bucket list. Here’s a couple of short video’s I took of the concert.
After a day or so recovering from the concert we decided to take the ferry from Bremerton to Seattle, what an adventure that was. First thing we did wrong was not realizing that there was a baseball game happening that day, second we did not leave early enough to find parking nor did we realize there would be no parking literally. So we decided to go to Port Orchard and catch the ferry there, we got there got parked got Momi in the stroller and off we went. Funny it took us right back to Bremerton, so we got that ferry it was a pleasant ride and took about and hour. Below are pics that I took from the ferry zooming in on Seattle. We started walking in the direction of Pike’s Place market already very hungry. We finally decided on a place it was pretty good. Walked around a lot more and came across this bakery that had these huge donuts. The pic doesn’t show it so well. And of course all the fish and fruits and veggies you could ever want. Now its time to go back to the ferry. Eventually we get on and we get back to the car and sure enough it had a parking ticket on it, yes you heard me right. By this point we are so tired we just had to laugh, and just get this day finished.
Another day we went north to the Navel undersea Museum in Keyport. I had know idea that there was so much to learn and understand about what happens with the navy under the ocean. Craig was like a little kid in a candy store. Because he served on a submarine for 4 years. And then repaired them at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard for a nother 34 years.
A day or 2 later we decided to try the ferry again but this time we went a little more prepared. We left Momi home and I was traveling a lot lighter. We knew where to look for parking so that didn’t take to long, we just had to walk a few blocks but that was ok Craig ran into a metal friend and did a yoga move together, Funny.
So our first stop was the space needle but there was about an hour wait so we went to Chihuly Garden and Glass. This place was truly amazing and beautiful. The detail of each piece and the stories told by each exhibit.
Its time to go up, even though there was still a long line before you actually get in the elevator it wasn’t to bad. In the elevator my ears were popping and it took a while to get up there. There was so many people up there and oh yeah we are really high up in the sky. Luckily I had my super zoom camera and got close up to all kinds of things. I can’t believe I actually got a shot of that water plane landing, pretty cool. We also discovered these huge spiders on a roof.
When we were done at the Space Needle we went back to the Pikes Place Market and walked around for a little while, then headed back to the ferry then back home to Momi. All in all a good day I walked over 13 thousand steps.
Wow, continuing the fun…..and games.
